The main purpose of this survey was to clarify the relationship between Xedi (Hdi) and Lamang (Hambagda) since language research teams were working in both languages, bearing in mind future ramifications for both teams. The survey also included neighboring languages, Vemgo and Gvoko. All these languages except Lamang are spoken in both Cameroon and Nigeria, according to the map on page 2.
