Research in translation theory and practice is an essential component of SIL’s commitment to scholarship in language development. This commitment also involves making the results of this research available to all.

SIL promotes multidisciplinary research in translation theory, involving Translation Studies, Cognitive Linguistics, Relevance Theory, Discourse Studies, and other related fields.
